Achy Stomach and Tired

I hate being sick. I got whatever stomach virus was going around. I slept like crapola last night and remember nothing of what I dreamed. I was up and down all night going to the restroom. The bad thing is I can't even do much reading right now, I'm so damn figity and achy all over. So I've been watching tv, reading, working on Marcel's Link sword and browsing online while Lana's out playing with her horse at the barn. To top it all off, I'm tired. Arg.
I did do a few productive things today though. I was looking for something new to read and finally settled on something but not before I remembered a book I read back in High School. I couldn't remember the name of the book but after recalling most of the plot and main events of the story, I found it on Google!! It was a book I borrowed from "Shotgun Shelly" back in the tenth grade and I remember it being a really awesome book. I only hope that it stands the test of time when I read it again. I'm probably going to order it in the next few days on Amazon. I don't know that I'll get any good reading done over the next few weeks though with Halloween right around the corner and much left to do still.
Lana and Allison have decided I need to be Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean so they went out to buy the pattern and fabric last night. There pretty excited about it so I'll let 'em run with it plus it frees me up to work on the yard headstones. I showed my dad Marcel's finished Tusken Raider costume when he stopped by the other day. He smiled pretty big and said, "Man, I miss Halloween with you boys." It really got me thinking. I do too.
Speaking of parents, Lana and I were talking in the car the other day talking about how we worry about our parents since they don't really talk to us about how their doing.
Lana, looking out the window says, "I hope that when were that age our kids don't worry about us."
I smiled, waited a moment then said, "You said kids."
She looked a little taken back for a moment then immediately came back with, "That's because I'm going to buy you another one." and grinned at me, just challenging me to question to truth of her slip up. :)

A Record is Set!

We're in full Halloween mode here at the Camacho ranch and things are going well. I've set a record this year. I'm over two weeks early on Marcel's costume but the bad news is I can't be a Tusken Raider with him. Once I pulled the Fiberglas mask from the mold I knew there would be no fitting it on my face without a lot of trimming and major rigging. It wasn't worth it so I focused on just finishing Marcel's. I'm thinking of going as Loki from the movie Dogma, towards the end of the movie when they're sporting their armor and wings. It should be simple enough I think. I'm undecided if I'll do the wings. It really depends on how much time I have I guess. Micah's Achilles mask is looking good so far but we'll know for sure when we pull the plaster mold off the clay. We've still got a ways to go but I'm relieved there won't be any rushing around for my little man's costume. Heck, he almost missed his horse riding lesson just so he could play with his costume. My garage is trashed but that was to be expected. I'll clean it up probably sometime after Christmas.
It's hard to describe the feeling of satisfaction I get from seeing him so happy from something we did together. He helped me mix the plaster for the molds, he spray painted the Gaffi stick, he held down the pvc while I drilled the flash suppressor holes, helped me sew, but most important I think he had fun. I wish I had taken more photos of the process but I really just wanted to get it done. Besides, the guys at Studio Creations have a very comprehensive tutorial I'm very grateful for.
I'm thinking next year we'll make a few more but for adults plus there's the Stormtrooper armor I want to make. Until then though, I still have a lot on my plate. We need to do some headstones for the yard, get decorations and stock up on liquor for the party. Well, back to work I guess. Man, I love Halloween.

That Old Feeling

Tonight is Poker Night again but I'm more hyped about roleplaying tomorrow than I am about the game tonight. Even with a win over at my brother's place to revive that old poker feeling, I'm more excited about saddling up in the GM's seat. I've had the game on my brain every since I first conceived the few key npc's in the game I'm going to run. I just hope the group lets them live long enough to grow further. I try to never get to attached to an npc but sometimes their just so cool I can't help but root for them. I guess that goes back to the ol' AD&D days though. I've got a few pages of notes and some rough sketches on npc development so I'm ready - I think. I say that because this group tends to be a little unpredictable than even most gaming groups I've played with. If all things go well, I'll be tearing down the old GURPS page and replacing it with the new game. I've got a good feeling about this one so I'm hoping it all goes well. Tonight we play poker on the green poker table and tomorrow we put dice and paper to it. I love it.
The office is clean, I'm in bad need of shower and I find myself without the motivation to do it. I'd rather sit here and pound out a few more details on tomorrows game than go downstairs and get ready for company. Arg.
Well, I better shower. Besides, that'll give me some more brain brewing time for tomorrow. :)

Six Rolls of Duct Tape and Two Willing Women

Halloween is right around the corner and we're busy doing what we should have done last month. Lana found the pattern she wants to use for her costume when her and Allison were at the fabric store. She also picked up the burlap cloth for Marcel's Tusken Raider costume. The next few days I'm going to be busy finishing up the Tusken Raider costumes and making as many headstones as possible. I'm thinking of having a get together this Sunday to work on Halloween stuff.
I did get to take duct tape to Allison and Lana the other night plus I got to cut their cloths off! Well, they were wearing cloths underneath but it was still fun. I was surprised Lana was down for making a duct tape dummy. My baby, being the claustrophobic person she is, was actually very willing. Tonight we tape them back together and stuff them. Kelly took plenty of pictures, but I'll only put a few online since I don't think Allison would let me even though none of them are revealing. She did object a little to me hanging the roll of duct tape off her taped up tits. I thought it was pretty amusing myself. Marcel wants to make another one this year since he's grown so much since last year but I don't know if I'll really need one. I'll probably make him one just because though. It's something I'll be able to keep and always have so long as I keep it from the cat, dogs, and the kids. I had to take the last one from the kids because they were throwing it down the stairs and beating it with a level of violence I just wasn't comfortable with. It was like watching them tear into a pinata for no other reason than the sheer joy of it. Scary.
I hadn't done much today other than work on my new GURPS campaign taking notes, play Zuma, and take care of Marcel while he's running a fever. It's been a pretty lethargic day so far. I gotta find the energy sometime tonight to work on the Halloween stuff. Arg.
Well, enough rambling for now so I'm off to play with plaster now. :)

Vasoline Has Many Uses

In the past few days things have fallen back into order. Trying to catch up on laundry, keeping the kitchen clean, picking up after everyone, etc. Life as usual I guess. I've even managed to clean up most of my yard. I did find something very interesting in the front yard though while raking all the leaves.
I first noticed it walking out to the yard from the front door. It was a cd laying just under the bushes right next the porch. I figured it for just junk mail dropped on the way in. An aol cd, or maybe earthlink or something of the like. So I ignored it and figured I'd pick it up on my way inside. So for the next few hours I proceeded to pick up the mess of sticks, branches, and leaves I had been working so hard on ignoring the past week. I finally decided that it was time for a glass of water, so I picked up on the way in. I couldn't quite figure out what I was looking at, at first, so I read the title of the disk. Anal Rampage. Women Who Do Men. Suddenly the picture became clear on the cover, sort of like staring at a stereogram poster does after losing focus. It was an image of two butts, a woman humping a hairy ass with a strap-on. It went directly into the trash after I broke it a few times. If you have children you'd understand. Even something in the trash isn't safe from rescue. It's not exactly how I want my son learning about sex so I made sure it wasn't viewable. Women who do men. ugggggg. Speaking of vasoline, we did end up lubbing Micah up by the end of the night.
Micah finally did his body cast! It didn't take us near as long this time and we corrected a lot of minor mistakes this time. We did it outside where it was cooler, he had a fan on him the whole time, his heels were padded and we made sure he took deep breaths while the chest strips were setting. It took us just two hours compared to what took us just over three last time. It came out pretty damn good too. Now the only thing left is to add supporting plaster strips to weak spots and cast the Fiberglas Micah version.
We've still got a lot to do for Halloween. I think I'm going to make that a priority this week. More work on the costumes plus pump out a few more headstones. We work better under pressure anyway. I guess that's all I have to ramble about for now.
