More than anything though, it's been a lot of A Baby's Story with Lana, watching movies and waiting. We're all ready for Olivia to be with us. Whenever I get to thinking about it, it's a little overwhelming. A baby, another life brought into the world, a sister for Marcel, a daughter. The baby socks, watching her smile for the first time, her first words, watching her play, just holding her, and the almighty Baby Belly Laugh. Babies laugh with their whole body and it's awe-inspiring to hear. Somewhere along the way growing up we lose that. It all goes by so damn fast. I sometimes feel like I squandered away my time with Marcel when he was a baby, never realizing how precious it was.
We went for Lana's ultrasounds a few days ago and got floored to find out she's a little ahead of schedule and probably won't make it to the twenty seventh!! It was a giddy/panicky feeling to know she's nearly here. We came home and packed her diaper bag, set aside some outfits, and realized we don't have a single newborn outfit. Out of all the girl clothes we've been buying up, nothing newborn. I guess I'll have to buy a few more. ;)
Well, off to play some chess with Marcel!
